Jeeyoun Park
Principal
Jeeyoun Park is a founding principal of STUDIO FORMGIVER and its philosophy of integrating light within architectural elements can be seen in Ms. Park’s design direction for projects both small and large. Her experience in lighting design spans more than two decades, resulting in a strong portfolio full of beautiful visual environments. Her love for all things architecture and design is what drives her design objectives
Her professional career began in 1999, as an interior designer in NYC and Seoul, Korea, where she worked as a design member of various projects.
Ms. Park joined Cooley Monato Studio, NY in 2003. There she participated in a number of award-winning projects, including Le Meridien Hotel which was honored with IESNY Lumen Awards of Excellence.
Since joining Mavericks, Seoul in 2008, she has worked on a wide variety of lighting design projects including offices, institutes, resorts, and exterior buildings. Her creativity and clear understanding use of light brings unique insight and creativity to her work.
Ms. Park has a Master’s degree from the Parson School of Design in New York, NY major in Lighting Design. She also has a B.F.A. degree with honor, majoring in Interior Design from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY on May 1999.
Outside of project-related activity, she is a council member at Seoul Metropolitan Government, executive director of Korea Association of Lighting Designers (KALD) and also a member of the Designer’s Lighting Forum (DLF), and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), and actively participates in presentations as well as being a member for the Student Design Competition Committee for the New York Section, a competition awarding grants to winning college-level students enrolled in design oriented careers.
Additionally, Ms. Park has been involved with teaching lighting design courses at Yonsei University and Interior architecture studio courses at Hongik University.
